The next Neilson Hays Library book sale is scheduled from Saturday, May 11 to Sunday, May 19 (excluding Monday, May 13) from 9:30-17:00 inside the library building. 

We have fiction and non-fiction books in English and Thai donated by Neilson Hays Library supporters or withdrawn from the library shelves. This sale you are spoiled for choice with a plethora of books ranging from the latest thrillers, history hardbacks, to cookbooks. So whether you are looking for escapism, insight, or the ability to whip up a delicious dinner, we have the book for you. We have a good selection of children’s books and in the rotunda we will have an eclectic range of Thai books. Visitors will also find magazines, DVDs and CDs to add to their collections. Prices start at only 20 baht.

Because of the limited space, the only books for sale at any point, are the ones that are out in the library space. We will replenish books daily as space opens up on the tables. So better to come in a few times whilst it is open rather than coming once and expecting to see everything. We encourage visitors to bring their own bags in order to help us reduce waste, or Neilson Hays Library tote bags can be purchased from the cashier.

Since the book sale will be inside the library building, normal library activities (except Children’s Story Time) will be suspended during this period. You will be able to return books throughout the period, but books (except children’s books) can only be withdrawn on weekdays during the book sale.

Parking: With the limited parking space available in the library, it is recommended that you take a taxi or use public transportation. If you do drive, parking is available at the Bangkok Union Insurance, 175/177 Surawong Road. The building is approximately 300 meters before the library, and the garage entrance is on Soi Anuman Rajdhon 1. They charge a fee of THB 30 per hour for parking. (Click for Map Link)

งานขายหนังสือมือสอง

วันที่ 11 – 19 พฤษภาคม 2567 (ปิดวันจันทร์ ที่ 13 พฤษภาคม) ตั้งแต่เวลา 9:30 น. – 17:00 น.

ทางหอสมุดนิลเซนเฮส์จะจัดงานขายหนังสือมือสองครั้งแรกของปี โดยเริ่มตั้งแต่วันเสาร์ ที่ 11 พฤษภาคม 2567 ไปจนถึงวันอาทิตย์ ที่ 19 พฤษภาคม 2567  (ปิดวันจันทร์ ที่ 13 พฤษภาคม) ในช่วงเวลาเปิดทำการปกติของเรา คือเวลา 9:30-17:00 น.ซึ่งจะจัดขึ้นที่บริเวณภายในอาคารหอสมุดฯ อีกครั้ง

ที่งานนี้เรามีหนังสือประเภทต่างๆให้เลือกมากมายทั้งภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษ ซึ่งมีผู้อุปการคุณบริจาคมาให้ รวมถึงบางส่วนที่ทางหอสมุดฯ ได้เลือกนำออกจากชั้นหนังสือของเราเอง  โดยที่งานนี้เราจำหน่ายทั้งหนังสือประเภทนิยาย สอบสวนลึกลับ วิทยาศาสตร์ ศิลปะ ประวัติศาสตร์ และปรัชญา คุณลองแวะมาเลือกดูที่เราได้ ทั้งยังมีหนังสือเด็ก หนังสือเก่าและหนังสือหายากอีกมากมาย ซึ่งนอกจากหนังสือแล้ว เราก็ยังมีซีดีและดีวีดีจำหน่ายอีกด้วย โดยราคาเริ่มต้นเพียง 20B ซึ่งคุณอาจจะพบบางสิ่งที่น่าสนใจติดไม้ติดมือกลับบ้านไป

และเนื่องจากว่าเรามีพื้นที่จำกัด หนังสือที่เก็บไว้ในคลังสินค้าเพื่อรอจำหน่ายไม่สามารถนำออกมาให้เลือกซื้อเลือกหาภายในครั้งเดียวได้ทั้งหมด  แต่อย่างไรทางเราก็จะหมั่นเติมหนังสือขึ้นโต๊ะจำหน่ายเมื่อมีพื้นที่ว่าง  ซึ่งรบกวนทางคุณช่วยกลับมาดูหนังสือขึ้นโต๊ะใหม่ๆในวันต่อไปที่มีจัดงาน ทั้งนี้ทางเราขออนุญาตเรียนแจ้งให้นำกระเป๋ามาเองเพื่อช่วยลดปริมาณขยะ หรือซื้อกระเป๋าผ้าของหอสมุดฯ ได้จากแคชเชียร์

เนื่องจากการขายหนังสือจะอยู่ภายในอาคารหอสมุดฯ ดังนั้นกิจกรรมปกติของเราจะถูกระงับไปก่อนในช่วงงานนี้ (แต่กิจกรรมเล่านิทานสำหรับเด็กยังคงจัดอยู่) โดยทางสมาชิกหอสมุดฯ สามารถคืนหนังสือได้ตลอดเวลา แต่ในช่วงที่เราจัดงานขายหนังสือนี้ การยืมหนังสือสามารถทำได้ในวันธรรมดาเท่านั้น (แต่หนังสือเด็กยังคงยืมคืนได้ตามปกติ)

หมายเหตุ: ขออนุญาตแจ้งให้ทราบว่า เนื่องจากที่จอดรถของทางหอสมุดฯมีจำนวนจำกัด ดังนั้นจะเป็นการดีหากท่านใช้บริการขนส่งสาธารณะหรือแท็กซี่ แต่หากท่านต้องการที่จอดรถ ที่อาคารบางกอกสหประกันภัย 175-7 ซอยอนุมานราชธน 1 ถนนสุรวงศ์ แขวงสุริยวงศ์ เขตบางรัก กรุงเทพมหานคร  มีพื้นที่ให้บริการเช่าจอดชั่วโมงละ 30 บาท ซึ่งห่างจากหอสมุดฯ เดินไปประมาณ 5 นาที
