Haresh Sharma won the S.E.A. Write Awardin 2014 and awarded the Cultural Medallion, Singapore’s highest arts honor, in 2015. He has penned 120 plays, which have been staged in London, Glasgow, and Cairo. His body of work is experimental and topical, and spans every genre from comedy and dramedy to musicals and interdisciplinary dance performances.

The Resident Playwright of The Necessary Stage, his play Off Centre was selected by the Singaporean Ministry of Education as an official literature text studied for secondary school exams. Sharma is the first non-American to be awarded the Goldberg Master Playwright by New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
